1. About this site

This website and portal are operated by the Municipal Tourism Office (MTO) of Bauan, Batangas, Philippines. It has two parts: the public Discover Bauan pages for visitors, and the Bauan Integrated Tourism Portal for MTO staff, accredited resort staff, and authorized administrators.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By ticking the agreement box, clicking “Agree & Continue”, logging in, or continuing to use this site, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

3. Visitors (public pages)

• Information about resorts, attractions, programs and activities is for general guidance only. Please confirm rates, availability, schedules and requirements directly with the resort or the MTO.
• This site does not take bookings. Reservations are made with the resort itself.

4. Staff accounts (MTO, resort staff, administrators)

• This system is for official use only. Accounts are approved individually by the Admin.
• Keep your username and password confidential. Sharing login credentials is not allowed.
• You are responsible for everything done under your account. Log out when using a shared device.
• Important actions in the portal are recorded in an activity log for accountability.

5. Accuracy of data entered

Guest records, visitor counts and resort details must be accurate and submitted in good faith for tourism statistics and reporting. The MTO may disable accounts found to submit false or fraudulent data.

6. Your location

• Sharing your location is optional. We ask for your confirmation first, and your browser will ask for permission as well.
• It is used to show directions from where you are to resorts and attractions, and to help Tourist Bot give nearby suggestions.
• If you confirm your location and then chat with Tourist Bot, your approximate coordinates are sent together with your message so it can answer better. We do not save them.
• When you open a map or directions, Google Maps receives the places involved under Google’s own terms and privacy policy.
• You can say “Not now”, or change the permission any time in your browser’s site settings.

7. Tourist Bot (AI assistant)

• Tourist Bot is an AI assistant. It can make mistakes, so please double-check important details with the resort or the MTO.
• Your chat messages are sent to an AI service provider to generate replies. Do not share passwords, ID numbers, card numbers or other sensitive personal information in the chat.
• Tourist Bot is not for emergencies. In an emergency, call 911 or your local authorities.

8. Messages, reviews and photos you submit

• You confirm that you own, or have permission to share, what you submit.
• No unlawful, hateful, misleading, or offensive content, and no personal information of other people without their consent.
• The MTO may remove content and may display approved reviews and photos on this site to promote Bauan tourism.

9. Data privacy

• We follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). We collect only what is needed, such as the name, email and message you send through the contact form, staff account details, and visitor and guest statistics entered by resorts.
• Data is used solely for municipal tourism planning, reporting to the Department of Tourism (DOT), answering your inquiries, and related official purposes. We do not sell personal data.
• You may ask the MTO to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used, through the Contact page.

10. Third-party services

The site uses third-party services such as Google Maps, Google Fonts, Font Awesome and an AI provider. They operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break into accounts or systems, scrape or overload the site, upload harmful files, or misuse the chat assistant. Rate limits may apply.

12. Suspension

The MTO may suspend or remove access to any account or visitor who breaks these terms.

13. Disclaimer

The site is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, the MTO is not liable for losses resulting from reliance on information on this site, changes in travel conditions, or the services of third parties such as resorts and operators.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will ask you to agree again when the terms change.
